Installation instruction for model 207 LED Light

1. Remove presser foot and needle from your sewing machine. Unplug the machine, lower presser foot lifter lever.

2. Remove Light diffuser

Turn the machine so that the back is facing you. Pull on the light diffuser. It needs to be pulled past a latch when it is about 1/2 inch out and may require a fair amount of force and wiggling to remove it. You may throw this part away, as it is not needed with the LED Sewing Light.

3. Remove existing bulbs from your sewing machine.

Locate the gray bulb remover/needle screw lightener that came with your machine. If you no longer have it you can purchase it at your closest Bernina dealer. Fit the remover over the light bulb in the front. Push up and turn counterclockwise, then pull down. The bulb should come out with the bulb remover. Repeat for the rear bulb. You may discard both bulbs as they will not be needed with the LED Sewing Light.

4. Fit the light into position. Putting the right hand side in first.

The tab on the right-hand side of the light goes in first and should rest on the edge of the sewing machine.

5. Make sure coin slot on light holder is straight front and back.

and that you have enough length on the wire to tighten the light without breaking the wires.

6. Push the left-hand side of the light up and fasten light holder.

Push the light up then take a nickel and use it to push up and turn the light holder clockwise (about 1/16 turn till it snaps into position).

8. Plug in the machine, and turn on. Congratulations your light is now installed and will give you a bright shadow free sewing light for the next 100,000 hours!

Note: if this light should flicker it is most likely caused by the light switch in the back of the machine. It may help to press this switch about a hundred times, though my suggestion is to eliminate this switch so the light is always on. This is best left to a knowledgeable technician as the covers of the machine need to be removed.
